ok what does the expression “you cant have your cake and eat it too” or whatever mean?
like…aren’t you supposed to eat the cake? whats the point in having cake if you cant eat it??
it should really be you can’t have cake and have pie too or something along those lines but it’s not.
Its really the dumbest shit and I hate when people use it in arguments.
Someone pulled that out while I was on a debate team and I reamed their ass for the rest of the time we had.
It means that if you eat your cake you will no longer have it. It’s not talking about expectation, it’s talking about how you can’t have an eaten cake.
Just learned this the other day.
